Based in the heart of historic York, The Riverside offers supreme comfort in spacious and elegantly furnished rooms - comprising two accommodation units, an apartment and a three-storey Victorian townhouse. Ascensor has managed the website since 2010, so having completed the refurbishment of the residence The Riverside York needed a new site which reflected the unique style and luxury of the accommodation. That’s where we came in....
The website combines sleek design with effective usability – meaning when a user clicks on either “Apartment” or “House” they will be able to view information and images for the different rooms using a left-hand silo menu. The new website utilises The Riverside York’s professionally produced accommodation images, complemented by shots of York’s beautiful backdrop. The images open in a lightbox when they are clicked and move on scroll to encourage interaction... We also integrated a third party iFrame booking system to allow users to book their stay via the website which we customised to reflect Riverside’s brand colours. A sticky footer menu was also implemented for when a user views the site on their mobile to ensure that the key sections of the website can be easily navigated no matter the device or screen size.
What The Riverside York said
Having not known Andy and his team at Ascensor when we first opened The Riverside York to guests, we secured the services of another company to design and manage our website, and the constraints of that site were evident until we eventually found the budget to completely re-launch the site.
Ascensor understood and interpreted our requirements perfectly, with the front end sales and design teams effectively communicating their vision to the programming team to arrive at a site which exceeded our expectations and one that we are extremely happy with.
The style and luxury of The Riverside York perfectly captured and showcased in an excellent web site, which now attracts only positive feedback from our guests. Many thanks.
