This Friday it’s the 4th annual Yorkshire Children of Courage and Achievement Awards. The awards ceremony, this year being held at New Dock Hall in Leeds, recognises and celebrates the bravery and achievements of 10 children and 1 local school. Since launching in 2011, the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards has brought celebrities, members of the local community, supporters of the charity and the wonderful and inspiring nominees together for evenings full of fun, laughter and courage!

The event is now firmly established as an annual fundraising event on the Yorkshire Calendar with the 2013 ceremony raising over £51,000 for local causes! This success has also lead to a second awards night, the Midlands Children of Courage Awards, which is taking place for the first time this year, on Friday 7th November.

This year’s events looks set to be even bigger with the return of BBC breakfast journalist Steph McGovern comparing the evening alongside a special performance from renowned tenor Jonathan Ansell! There will also be special appearances from Yorkshire Children of Courage Ambassadors Jack Carroll, The Chuckle Brothers and Gary Hetherington alongside a number of other famous faces set to attend the star studded event!

As well as providing subsidised services to the charity since 2011, this year Ascensor are immensely proud to sponsor an award on the evening and support a truly worthwhile cause recognising the achievements of children who succeed in the face of adversity. It is inspiring to hear the stories of previous winners and this year’s nominees and we are thrilled to be able to contribute towards and attend the awards ceremony. We are very much looking forward to joining our guests and others for what is always a very emotional night to remember.
