Why Ecommerce Businesses Should Use Stripe

Why Ecommerce businesses should use Stripe

You can sell almost anything online, though if you are going to create an online store and accept virtual (card not present) payments, you must have the capability and security to do so.

Though many payment processors don’t exactly make this process any easier. Some make you set up a merchant account, some even charge you for that privilege and pricing structures are confusing. However, there is one payment processor that strives to make this process easier. Enter Stripe.

“Pain” free payment processing

Stripe have designed a beautifully simple payment processor with the goal of taking the “pain” out of taking payments online. With Stripe the lengthy, complicated, confusing and often misleading sign up processes, high monthly fees, minimum transaction requirements and complex integrations are thankfully avoided.

If you have previous experience with some of the more conventional payment gateways, like we have, then you are probably wondering if there is a catch. But, so far, we can’t find one.

Transparent Pricing

Sticking with the theme of simplicity and convenience, as you only pay a transaction fee. While these fees are higher than what can be found with other payment processes, they more than make up for it by not charging a signup or monthly fee.

This is great if you are just starting out in the land of Ecommerce and should be a big selling point, as the lack of a fixed cost means that you won’t processing services if you are not actually making any sales. This will keep your monthly overheads very low.

Effortless Integration

Being website developers, for us the best thing about Stripe is its ability to integrate with a wide range of Ecommerce platforms (including our very own Liquid CMS). This is because integrating with the cart software is generally as simple as copying and pasting the in your secret keys found in your Stripe dashboard.

Need custom integration? Stripe has that covered too, allowing us to use easy to follow documentation and code samples that make the process simpler than you might expect, saving development time.

What are you waiting for?

If you’re a new e-shop just getting started or are fed up with your existing payment gateway and want to try something new, we’d highly recommend giving Stripe a look and a test drive.
