london chamber of commerce and industryHaving visited several quite random networking events since the doors opened at our London sales office, many of which have yielded some great contacts, I decided to join the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). The difficulty with some of the events I have attended is the lack of repetition between members, something that I believe is essential to relationship building, alongside the follow-up and out of group meetings. Not only that, but seeing familiar faces at networking events certainly helps, in terms of getting in to ones stride.

The LCCI is highly focussed on small business development, with countless different events throughout the week, some dealing with sector specialisms, some just great presentations (like the Rona Cant presentation last night at the Docklands Sailing Club) but all involving business networking. In just 2 days I have attended 3 events and already have experienced repetition in visitors which has immediately strengthened the opportunity. The callibre of businesses also seems to be a notch higher, certainly the type of contacts that Ascensor is now working predominantly for in the North.

The LCCI also offers some great business support including free legal advice, venue search, member database access (some 2500 businesses in the London area), free financial reporting (using FAME), access to the Compass Database for non-members, the list goes on...

It is without doubt that the LCCI is going to form a very important part in the growth of our London operation, from a business support perspective and also from a relationship building point of view.
