As part of Ascensor's annual charity contribution that includes building subsidised websites, providing marketing support and fundraising, Andrew Firth and Stuart Holdsworth joined a team led by Aura Print's Liam Smith to canoe 55 miles round Loch Ness to raise money for the Forget Me Not Trust Children's Hospices.

The event took place between the 3rd and 5th of June, with the 14 man team occupying 7, 2 man Canadian Kayaks.

"This was without a doubt one of the most mentally and physically challenging things I have ever had to do," said Andrew, "by the end of it we were all exhausted but at the same time thrilled to have raised over £4k for our nominated local charity".

The Ascensor boat completed the 55-mile lap in just 24 hours.

"We are already talking to Liam about next year's fund-raising activity where the target will be £10k" Andrew continued.

The Forget Me Not Trust build and run children's hospices in Wakefield and Kirklees and help terminally ill children spend their last days in comfortable care.
