With hair salons physically closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was important for long term client, Melissa Salons to help people keep control of their hair whilst they're at home. Manchester-based Melissa, therefore, needed a way to offer her top tips for looking after hair whilst you can't book into the salon and that's where we worked together. Melissa used her extensive hair care knowledge to create a video campaign where viewers can discover her top tips, suggested products and hair how-to's for looking after their hair at home.
'At Home Hair' video tutorials
We helped the Melissa Salons team to get their 'At Home Hair' campaign out there, by working with them to create a series of videos to be shared on a range of platforms. The video series needed to be suitable for their social channels including IGTV, Facebook and YouTube.
The idea of a series of videos makes it easier for viewers to follow the videos, and also create an interest in when the next episode will be released. This is why the 'At Home Hair' campaign worked so well as part of the salon's IGTV. Our design team created a branded cover for each of the videos, which sums up the video content perfectly, and therefore ensures that viewers know what video they want to watch simply and quickly.
The videos, which were recorded at home by salon owner Melissa Timperley, were shared on the social channels weekly and used industry-relevant hashtags to amplify the reach.
The campaign has been running since early April and after a couple of weeks in, the number of users more than doubled from 374 to 1039. In response to this, we achieved a 414.12% increase in direct traffic, along with a 41.67% increase in organic and 279.31% increase in social traffic too.
