The first stage with any bespoke website is agreeing the vision, and the technical specification. Our client wanted cutting edge and that’s what we built into the brief, which included designing an entirely new brand. A fun and interactive feature is the dynamic time-based banners. The homepage banner changes dependent on the time of day; with a next day delivery countdown timer until 1pm, a standard and informative design after 1pm, and a 'Trouble Sleeping?' banner during the night. This works as a way to engage the customer at whatever time they are browsing the website, and aims to build a relationship with them.
The new brand is friendly and has lots of personality. The letter 'e' becomes a character throughout the site, and we changed it's design to match the different contexts. For example, in the logo it is sleeping, when there is a 404 error it appears worried, on the blog it is wearing reading glasses, and during the night it looks tired.
The design process takes into consideration every touch point throughout the user journey, to benefit from maximum conversion. Engagement is the name of the game with any website build, but it is vital when it comes to Ecommerce. Page speed performance, animation and intuitive navigation are key front-end development requirements and Beds.net has the lot.
Content management is handled using Ascensor Liquid. Built on the Laravel PHP framework, our purpose built CMS puts clients firmly in control of their own website. Lightweight and easily managed by non-technical clients – it only contains the features that you need, with each admin built from the ground up. The admin has everything you would expect and more, including promotions, shipping and order management; as well as full SEO management with a Google Shopping feed already in place.
We’ve also integrated Payzone into Beds.net but Ascensor Liquid already comes with Stripe integration, and any other gateways can be quickly added. Users can check-out as a guest or can use their client area to see order history and benefit from any promotional pricing.
