Gung-Ho! is Challenge 1 of 10 for Ascensor

As you may have heard, 2017 is the year we’ll be proudly celebrating our 10th year in business and we’ve decided to mark this special occasion with a yearlong celebration!

Ascensor has always been a big believer in both corporate social responsibility (CSR) and raising money for charities supporting worthy causes.

Last year, the team organised a BBQ ahead of Yorkshire Day in aid of Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice and we were thrilled to raise over £200 for the local hospice.

This year, the Ascensor team are preparing to be pushed to their limits with 10 challenges to be completed throughout the course of 2017!

Each challenge will be in aid of a charity chosen by individual members of the team. The 10 nominated charities are as follows:

1. Cystic Fibrosis Trust – Chosen by Sophie in Digital Marketing
2. CALM - Chosen by David in Digital Marketing
3. Macmillan Cancer Trust
4. Harrogate Neighbours – Chosen by our influential leader, Andy
5. British Heart Foundation
6. Wakefield Hospice - Chosen by Charlotte in Digital Marketing
7. Alzheimer’s Society - Chosen by Donna from the Development Studio
8. Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice – Chosen collectively by Tash & Alan from the Development Studio
9. St. Georges Crypt – Chosen by our Digital Marketing Manager, Steve
10. Cancer Research UK – Chosen by Oliver from the Development Studio

Taking on Gung-Ho! for Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Our first challenge is the Gung-Ho! 5K obstacle course, which our team are doing on 20th May 2017. The nominated charity for this event is the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, put forward by our Marketing Assistant Sophie who tells us why she chose this charity:

Cystic Fibrosis is a charity very close to my heart. It is a genetic condition which people are born with, mainly affecting the chest.

I don't believe there is enough press coverage out there so that people are aware of it and how the genetic condition affects more than 10,800 people within the UK.

On 20th May 2017, I am so excited to be taking part in Gung-Ho! in Leeds for my first time with some of my work colleagues, a 5K Inflatable Obstacle Course, also known as the biggest 5K in the world, to help raise money and awareness in aid of Cystic Fibrosis.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust need support so that they can continue with the amazing research and work they do, not only to help improve the lives of those living with the daily struggles of the genetic condition, but helping to find a cure!

You can donate to Sophie’s JustGiving Page using the link below, where you can also find out more about Cystic Fibrosis and learn about the wonderful work carried out daily by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to help those who are affected by this lifelong condition.

It only takes a few minutes and any donations are really appreciated!
