We all like to do our bit for charity; here at Ascensor we like to go one step further. Since we formed in 2007 we have donated considerable resource to supporting well-deserving charities in our local community. Our support has been through providing website design and development services for a range of charities helping them to boost their fundraising efforts through online marketing.

Giving back to local communities through corporate social responsibility is something that everyone at Ascensor believes firmly in. According to figures from the National Council of Voluntary Organisations corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships generated £2bn for charities in the UK over the past year. Businesses are increasingly moving away from traditional philanthropy towards strategic philanthropy – supporting charities that will help causes that your business believes in and that are aligned to your objectives. It is not always financial. By giving your time or resource, as we do, it’s possible to dramatically support charitable efforts.

Ascensor are proud to have supported third sector organisations including: Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Community Foundation for Calderdale, One Community Foundation, Yorkshire Children of Courage and Achievement Awards and the Yorkshire Venture Philanthropy Program. Our support is given in the form of heavily subsidised or free website development. This has allowed the charities to increase their chances of raising funds online, increase awareness of their work and help them spread the word to their key donators and supporters.

Jason Costello, Partnership Development Director at the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice said; “Working with Ascensor is great. The team have been very supportive in all kinds of ways. They are there for us for all our digital needs, delivering the best, bringing our website in to the 21st century and holding our hands through the whole process.”

Over the past five years we have donated more than 700 hours of work, worth over £40,000. We also took part in several fund raising activities for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, including a 26 mile row around Loch Ness and the Huddersfield Hilly Half Marathon (shown in the picture above). Later this year a team will be taking part in the Tough Mudder challenge all in aide of Forget Me Not.  Jason Costello from Forget Me Not continued “Ascensor are fantastic partners who fundraise and promote the work we do at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.”
