It’s been a while since there was a funding stream available to support businesses in investing in their online activities, the new fund that will be available from January will fund up to 40% of website development and digital marketing project costs, to a maximum grant of £10,000.
The government have realised that businesses that invest in digital technology are leading the UK economy, they are growing faster, employing bigger teams and contributing more to the economy.
The eligibility criteria are:
• The business is over 12 months old (there is another start-up fund, ask for details)
• It is based within the Leeds region (covers Leeds, Harrogate, Bradford, York, Wakefield and wider, contact us for details)
• It employs less than 250 people
• It mainly supplies products and services to businesses (B2B)
• The funding will lead to growth
Are you eligible?
If you are looking to grow your business through investing in digital technology then it is likely that your business is eligible.
Measures of growth can include an increase in staff members, an increase in turnover and an increase in market share, as a direct result of the planned investment.
The fund will provide a 40% rebate upon payment of the invoice.
If you required a project that costs £5,000, the grant could provide £2,000 towards the costs of the project. If the project is £25,000 then the fund could provide £10,000 towards the cost.
If you need a new website or you would like more enquiries, please contact us to discuss how we can help you get funding support.
What type of projects does the fund cover?
The fund covers any investment in digital (online) technology including website design, website development and digital marketing.
Provided the investment will lead to growth then it is likely that the funding will be applicable. This can be investing in a new Ecommerce website (B2B), targeting overseas markets through digital marketing, building your local market share through Google local marketing, the opportunities are wide and we can advise you if your idea may receive support.
Will the fund cover training?
The fund is towards project costs rather than training, however there is another training grant available that will fund up to 12 hours of training that Ascensor can provide. We can also still access the LEP funding to support training.
When will the fund run out?
The fund is set to run until May 2019 and there is £4 million available in our region, however the last support that was available was cut early, so these timescales are just advisory.
How do I apply?
If you contact Ascensor we will be able to guide you through the process.
