Huddersfield Hilly Half Marathon
Yesterday hundreds of runners from across the region took part in the Huddersfield Hilly Half Marathon sponsored by Prohms and Sandal BMW, raising money for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
This was a morning of two races – the full half marathon for regular runners, and a half marathon relay for local businesses with 6 team members running a lap each in relay format.
The race was started by double Paralympic gold medallist Hannah Cockroft, a truly amazing athlete who seemed happy to pose for photo after photo and as pictured here showing off one of the magnificent gold medals that she won during the sprint events in this summer’s London Olympics 2012.
Ascensor fielded two relay teams (white and blue) and the race was on. The lead kept changing hands and in the end the blue team narrowly finished first, the real winners were the Hospice who benefitted from a great morning of fund-raising.
